El 6 de junio de 2025, la formación australiana Austere presentó The Stillness of Dissolution bajo el sello Prophecy Productions, un trabajo que se adentra en las profundidades de la desesperación y la disolución personal. El álbum no solo explora la belleza corrosiva de la depresión, sino también la tensión entre la rendición y la supervivencia, convirtiéndose en un viaje sonoro hacia el límite mismo de la existencia.
Obras como “Dissolved Exile” destilan un resplandor efímero en medio del vacío, mientras que “Time Awry” arrastra al oyente a un estado de angustia visceral, cercano al vértigo previo al colapso. Con atmósferas densas y melodías que oscilan entre lo etéreo y lo devastador, Austere rehúye el cliché del DSBM tradicional y se aproxima a un post-black metal de tinte fúnebre y melancólico, en la línea de Harakiri for the Sky y Hangman’s Chair.
